CALLA, the union of two forms in the light of one passion: architecture. We speak and create in it, flowing in the complexity of its layers. Taking it seriously, with the emotion and assertiveness of someone who fully understands the art of their role. Being an architect is, deep down, being CALLA: navigating from concept to form; and embrace the whole process, between one and the other.
IN PRAISE
OF THE FORM
From nothing to something.
From sketch to test.
From pieces to perfect.
From doubt to certain.
From start to lead.
From stripe to solid.
From one to many.
From art to experience.
From head to toe.
From us to you.
CARLA
MARQUES
COSTA
PROJECT MANAGER | COORDINATING SENIOR ARCHITECT
There has always been one certainty from the very beginning: architecture. More than a choice, a conviction that has shaped a career built on determination, precision, and continuous dedication to projects, teams, and clients.
In 2003, at 25, Carla was invited to establish and structure an architecture studio from the ground up, leading team organization, project management, client relations, and municipal coordination.
In 2011, she founded Carla Marques Costa Arquiteta, consolidating a rigorous and detail-oriented practice in Cascais.
In 2013, she expanded her expertise in real estate investment and feasibility through a postgraduate degree in Real Estate Management and Valuation at ISEG.
With over 20 years of experience, Carla brings to CALLA a solid architectural vision that combines technical expertise, project coordination, and a practical understanding of construction. Together with Carlota Amaro d’Orey, she co-founded CALLA — a partnership built on trust, shared experience, and a common vision for architecture.
Above all, Carla is a project architect: balancing rigor and strategy, coordination and execution, continuity and evolution.
CARLOTA
AMARO
D’OREY
PROJECT MANAGER | COORDINATING ARCHITECT
From Macau to Lisbon, life has been a journey shaped by cities, stopovers, and details. An architect graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Lisbon, with a period of study in Rome during her academic path, Carlota Amaro d’Orey brings to CALLA a contemporary vision and a multidisciplinary approach, built across distinct contexts and inspiring complementarities.
Before founding CALLA, she was part of a team dedicated to heritage rehabilitation, where she collaborated on emblematic projects to restore some of Lisbon’s most historic and representative buildings. This experience consolidated not only her technical expertise but also the sensitivity required to work with what already exists — respecting time, matter, and memory.
Throughout this journey, she also developed close relationships with investors and international clients, reconciling diverse cultural expectations with the principles of place.
A specialist in project coordination using BIM methodologies, she is now responsible for ensuring fluidity between concept, technique, and execution. At CALLA, she combines precision with generosity, maintaining a focus on process clarity and spatial quality.
Above all, Carlota is an architect of synthesis: between past and present, design and construction, intention and inhabitation.
